Minister-Designate for Tourism, Arts and Culture and Member of Parliament for Sekondi, Hon. Andrew Egyapa Mercer has expressed interest in deepening the cordial relationship between Ghana and Italy. He made these remarks when he received a delegation from the Italian Embassy in Accra led by Her Excellency Daniela d’Ordlandi, at the Ministry on Monday 29th April 2024. This courtesy call was on the lines of maintaining a stronger bond with foreign counterparts.

Arts and Culture sector.

While noting very recent projects in the area of arts and culture that the Embassy has partnered with Ghana to roll out, the Ambassador seized the opportunity to inform Hon. Mercer of an upcoming partnership between the Embassy of Italy in Accra, and Ghanaian playwright, Latif Abubakar to stage an adaptation of ‘The License’ by Italian Novelist and Nobel Prize Winner, Luigi Pirandello. According to the Ambassador, this play will be staged at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), between the 4th and 6th of May 2024.
Hon. Mercer thanked her for the visit and the invitation to attend Latif Abubakar’s adaptation of “The License” at the Accra International Conference Centre and expressed his commitment to greater collaborations in the Tourism, Arts and Culture sector.
