The Deputy Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Yussif Issaka Jajah, represented the Honourable Minister at the 8th Edition of the Financing Investment and Trade in Africa (FITA 2025), held in Tunis, Tunisia. The theme for the Ministerial Panel on Tourism was “Capitalising on Africa’s Tourism Potential to Boost the Economy.”
The panel featured high-level representatives, including ministers and deputy ministers from Tunisia, Mauritania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Libya, Tanzania, Madagascar, and Ghana, alongside private sector stakeholders such as Mr. Mossadeck Bally, Founder and CEO of Azalaï Hotels Group.
In his submission, the Deputy Minister highlighted the performance of Ghana’s tourism sector, noting the sector’s contribution to GDP, jobs, and landmark initiatives such as the Year of Return and Beyond the Return. He also emphasised Ghana’s commitment to digital tourism innovation, diaspora engagement, and sustainable destination management.
The discussions reflected strong alignment among African states on the need to prioritise regional integration, harmonise visa regimes, strengthen public-private partnerships, and establish a Pan African Tourism Investment Facility.
The Deputy Minister concluded by reaffirming Ghana’s readiness to collaborate, co-create, and contribute meaningfully to Africa’s tourism transformation agenda.
