Accra, 10th June 2025 – The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, today held a strategic meeting with the World Bank’s Ghana Economic Transformation Project (GETP) task team to discuss the implementation of key tourism initiatives under the project.
The meeting, held in the Minister’s conference room, marks an important step in strengthening collaboration between the Ministry and the World Bank to promote sustainable tourism development and job creation in Ghana. Discussions focused on aligning resources and long-term planning to drive impactful investments in the tourism sector.
In her remarks, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie expressed gratitude for the World Bank’s continued partnership and emphasized the importance of working closely with all key stakeholders to realize the Ministry’s vision of a vibrant and inclusive tourism industry.
The World Bank team, led by Senior Economist and task team leader Andres F. Garcia, reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to supporting Ghana’s economic transformation through strategic investments in tourism and the creative arts. Mr. Garcia highlighted the need for forward-thinking approaches and underscored the global demand for sustainable development partnerships.
Supporting the Minister were the Deputy Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Yussif Issaka Jajah, Chief Director, Mr. Joseph Kwasi Amoah and Directors of the Ministry. Also present was the GET Project Co-task team leader, Mr. Andrew Awuni.
The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts to deepen cooperation and ensure the effective implementation of tourism-related components under the GET Project.
